Joy Robbins

Joy has been in the outdoor industry for about 10+ years. For about 7 years she worked in outdoor retail. She has also worked as a backpacking and spelunking guide in the surrounding area. Also, Joy has worked on high ropes courses and guided rappelling trips. As a hobby she likes to rock climb, hike, backpack, and has even tapped a little into some water sports. She is up to try just about anything in the outdoors!

John Teilhet

John is a Johnson City/Elizabethton native with a bachelors degree in Outdoor Education from Montreal College. He went on get his Masters of Physician Assistant Studies and now works in orthopedics. John's favorite outdoor pursuits are snow sports, hiking and going places he has never been.

Juan Carlos Cevallos

For the past 15 years Juan has been developing Wilderness Adventure Leadership Programs in several countries in Latin America (wildernessministry.org). He also has been involved in developing adventure races locally and internationally. Juan has a background in challenge-courses and ropes technician, rock climbing, wilderness first rescuer, and worked at High Mountain Guiding in the Andes.

Sarah DeWitt

Born and raised in Banner Elk, North Carolina, Sarah's contagious laugh, or maybe even a banjo melody, are known to echo around her. She has grown up exploring the mountains in every aspect - skiing, snowboarding, hiking, fly fishing and even learning how to play an instrument or two. Since moving to Johnson City in 2011, Sarah has obtained a degree in Mass Communications from ETSU and is currently the Sales Manager at University Edge Apartments.

Paul Wingfield

Paul has been an adventure lover since he was a kid. His passions are paddling whitewater (raft and kayak: best of both worlds), backpacking, fly-fishing and climbing really, really tall mountains. But he is even more passionate about leading others on wilderness adventures and all of the joy, growth and challenge it brings to them. 


Chad Wolfe

Owner Trek Bicycle Store Johnson City.  As a firm believer that bikes simply make everything better, Chad and Trek continue to create more ways for more people to get on more bikes more often.  Creating one of a kind riding experiences such as Tannery Knobs Mountain Bike Park and the Taco Trek group ride, that concept has never been easier in East TN.  Originally from the Chicagoland area, Chad fell in love with Johnson City from day one...the people, the culture, the downtown, the lack of "winter", and of course the breathtaking mountain views.

Luke Freeman

Tourism Coordinator for Elizabethton/Carter County. Luke has lived in Northeast Tennessee all his life and loves getting outdoors whenever possible. Some of his favorite pastimes include hiking, disc golf, mountain biking, and camping.

Jerry Greer

President for SORBA Tri-Cities. Jerry enjoys exploring sweet Appalachian singletrack trails by mountain bike almost any time of the year. He also loves hiking, backpacking and running with his wife and daughter. Being outside is a priority for Jerry and his family.

Kelly Kitchens

Programming & Special Events Coordinator, City of Elizabethton Parks and Recreation. Kelly stays busy with her 4 children enjoying family time by finding adventures, museums, travel and discovering new places or in the summertime spending the day on Watauga Lake. During normal weeks she and her husband, Erik play in the Volleyball Rec League in Elizabethton year round and she loves riding her bike around town as often as possible.

Reagan Streetman

Events & Marketing Manager for NeTREP. Reagan is a lover of all things outdoors. Once a ski instructor in Colorado, she now prefers to adventure on her road bike across the beautiful mountains of TN and VA. Other hobbies include music, concerts, travel, craft beer, and community involvement. She and her two children reside in Bristol, TN.

Jenna Moore

Jenna is the Director of Sales for the Johnson City CVB. Jenna is a Greer, SC native that fell in love with Johnson City nearly five years ago and now prides herself a Tennessee girl. More often than not, you can find her at a local coffee shop indulging in too much espresso. When the weather is nice, Jenna hits the trails with her dog Tommy. They love the Tweetsie Trail, walking through the Tree Streets and hiking on Buffalo and Roan Mountains.

Matt Moses

Matt is the owner of USA Raft and Mountain River Guides on the banks of the Nolichucky river. Matt can be found paddling creeks and rivers in Tennessee year round on a stand up paddle board or riding a Onewheel on trails or in downtown JC. His greatest passion however is getting people outside experiencing adventures they might not normally try. Matt is excited to share his knowledge of the area and adventure sports with any and all locals and visitors.

Ashley Davies

Ashley is the Northeast Region Healthy Development Coordinator for the Tennessee Department of Health. Her position focuses on built environment efforts with an emphasis on active living and healthy eating. In her free time, Ashley loves to enjoy the great outdoors with her slightly crazy dog Gus.

Johnny Molloy

Johnny is an outdoor writer based in Johnson City. He has written over 70 books covering hiking, paddling and camping, which happen to be his three favorite things to do. Although Johnny's guides cover all or parts of 28 states, East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia is his favorite part of the world. Johnny has averaged over 150 nights per year camping for the past three decades, thus he is only sparingly found at his home office.

Kayla Carter

Kayla is the Outdoor Development Manager for NETREP. Make sure you call Kayla by her trail name – Blossom – when she is hiking on the Appalachian Trail. She earned that trail name during her successful completion of the entire AT in 2014. Since then, Kayla has spent most weekends either maintaining her three-mile section of the AT along the Elk River, keeping it rubber side down on some local mountain bike trails or playing cover songs on her ukulele.

Alicia Phelps

Alicia is the Executive Director of the Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association.  Alicia is an adrenaline junkie that will jump off, or out of, just about anything - including cliffs and small planes.  During the warmer months, she can be found at car shows, kayaking or hiking throughout Northeast Tennessee. Alicia is an avid runner and can't wait to try out her new stand up paddleboard this summer.

Wesley R. Bradley

Team Jackson Kayak, Tri-Cities World Kayak Ambassador and Appalachian Paddling Enthusiasts Class III-IV Cruise Director.  He is a life long resident of Elizabethton, TN and he loves to play outdoors in his local region with his adventurous wife.  He works as an architectural designer and project manager during the work week in Kingsport, TN.  Most other times you can find him shredding on his alpine skis, smashing berms on his mountain bike, cranking out some miles on his road bike or riding the whitewater in his kayak!

Gavin Andrews

Gavin is Director of Sport Development for the Johnson City CVB. During the winter Gavin enjoys bowling in leagues at Holiday Lanes with his wife Courtney and brewing beer in his garage brewery. In the warmer months you can find Gavin and Courtney paddling the Nolichucky and other rivers, hiking with their two dogs (Hops and Pepperjelly), and lounging by the creek on their property in Erwin.

Dianna Cantler

Dianna is the Director of Downtown Development for Northeast Tennessee Partnership. Dianna’s idea of roughing it is a hotel with no room service, however she does a enjoy a good one day hike and if she can hike to a place that has a great downtown and local shopping…even better! She has been managing festivals for about 10 years, so her insight is valuable when it comes to our inaugural year.
